Fall Leaves and Pumpkins

This creation was my very first 3-tiered cake. I wanted to practice for potential future wedding cakes, so I made this for my husband's Thanksgiving party at his place of employment. When it comes to art, sculpting, drawing, and painting, I can't wait to try it! I actually had to do a little food color painting on the leaves with this one. The pumpkins were probably my favorite part...making the little curves on the sides, the stumps, and the vines. The buttercream icing didn't get as smooth as I would have liked, but I've learned how to make the texture better for smoothing since then :)
